California Institute of Regenerative and Cellular Medicine

The Institute for Regenerative and Cellular Medicine (IRCM) is a 501(3)(C) non-profit corporation created to validate regenerative and cellular medicine through Institutional Review Board (IRB) certification as well as collaborative and translational research. The IRB IRCM houses is registered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with a primary goal of providing ethical oversight of research to insure patient safety and the effectiveness of clinical protocols. The IRCM IRB is composed of a select group of PhDs with a background in stem cell research, physicians who work in the field, patient advocates, and professional privacy and regulation experts—all of whom are registered with the FDA.

IRCM IRB functions as full-time external IRB for Seraph Research Institute and oversees all the translational and clinical studies conducted.

Hepatitis B Foundation & Blumberg Institute

The Hepatitis B Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by hepatitis B worldwide.

The Baruch S. Blumberg Institute is an independent nonprofit research institute, established in 2003 by the Hepatitis B Foundation to advance its research mission. Today, it is one of the nation’s leading centers for translational research, particularly for hepatitis B and liver cancer. The Blumberg Institute supports drug discovery, biomarker discovery and translational biotechnology around common research themes such as chronic hepatitis, liver disease, and liver cancer in an environment conducive to interaction, collaboration and focus.

Seraph Research Institute is collaborating with the Blumberg Institute to have the leading scientists in the field of Hepatitis B research validate the data of Dr. Gumrukcu’s potential HBV cure.

Scripps Research

Scripps Research is among the top research institutions in the United States, housing almost 300 laboratories and hundreds of research scientists. Seraph Research Institute and Scripps Research has started collaborating on various pre-clinical and translational studies in 2019 focusing mainly on the antiviral treatment projects of Gumrukcu Lab.

Enochian Biosciences

Enochian Biosciences is a Los Angeles based biopharmaceutical company dedicated to identifying, developing, manufacturing, and commercializing gene-modified cell therapy.

Their gene-modified cell therapy platform is applied to multiple indications including HIV and various solid tumor cancers. In 2019, Seraph Research Institute entered into a framework agreement with Enochian Biosciences to function as Enochian’s incubator to develop new potential therapeutic agents that support Enochian’s mission.

The Gallay Laboratory

Dr. Gallay is Professor, Department of Immunology and Microbial Science at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. Dr. Gallay’s research program examines the molecular basis of HIV, HCV, and HBV pathogenesis, including characterization of host proteins modulating viral replication, such as various cyclophilins (Host Targeting Antivirals). Dr. Gallay has presented his research at numerous scientific and research symposia worldwide. He serves as a reviewer for more than 40 journals, has served as a Member on the Center for AIDS Research Developmental Grant Review Committee, and has served as an ad hoc member of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the Medical Research Council (MRC, UK), as well as an ad hoc member of similar committees in Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland. Dr. Gallay has more than 85 peer-reviewed publications.
Gallay Lab and Gumrukcu Lab collaborate on several projects including a potential HBV cure, an in vivo gene therapy for HIV and a potential vaccine for SARS-CoV-2.

Seraph Medical PC

Seraph Medical combines science-based, regenerative, traditional, integrative and functional medical modalities to create personalized and customized treatment plans for patients with chronic illnesses and diseases.

Led by its Medical Director, Phillip Musikanth MD, we have developed advanced treatment protocols for terminal diseases and chronic illnesses through the use of science-based medicine and integrative therapies that not only attack the diseases, but also bolster the body’s own immune system. Seraph Medical collaborates with Seraph Research Institute and functions as a clinical site to conduct cutting edge clinical research under the oversight of IRCM IRB.

Dr. Gumrukcu, being a foreign-licensed physician, serves as a scientific consultant to Dr. Musikanth and his clinical team at Seraph Medical.
